Clip-Tip: Doc MacLean – Africa Blues
Forty-five years ago Doc MacLean was playing Charlie Patton songs in Son House’s living room.In recent years he’s been self driving across Africa with a battered National guitar and a small PA,playing in places where things are burning by the side of the road, places where dreams mix withcold beer and red wine, places where joy and sorrow and life and death crowd every moment.
“Africa Blues” was recorded at Sharp Street Studios in Cape Town, South Africa, mixed andmastered in Nashville by multi-Grammy winners Colin Linden and Ray Kennedy. Rising SouthAfrican star “Lulu” Lungiswa Plaatjies guests on the track.
This is the first release from Doc’s upcoming, indy EP/LP “Streamline.”
