Neal Schon’s daring all-instrumental album Vortex sets a new creative bar for rock-based six-string. But rock is just the foundation of Schon’s playing on this fast-paced 18-song magnum opus. His eclectic scope also embraces jazz, classical and world music in Vortex’s stunning, sonically explosive collection of original compositions.
Neal is joined on this album by former Journey drummer Steve Smith, and on keyboards Igor Len and the amazing Jan Hammer!
Vortex will be released as 2CD digipack, and double vinyl (+free MP3 download). We’ll add a free poster to every order (while stocks last).
Sonny Landreth – Bound By The Blues (Mascot Label)
Mascot Label Group’s Provogue Records will release slide guitar master Sonny Landreth’s new album Bound By The Blues on June 8 (Europe), June 9 (Rest of the world).
The recordings mark a return to the guitarist’s musical roots, the historic core of the blues. Landreth states: “Fans have been asking me, ‘When are you going to do another blues album?’ After expanding my songs into an orchestral form, I thought I’d get back to the simple but powerful blues form. I’d been playing a lot of these songs on the road with my band, and we’ve been taking them into some surprising places musically. So going into the studio to record them with just our trio seemed like the next step.”
Bound By The Blues will be released on CD digipack and 180 grams vinyl (+ free MP3 download).
